Ice Cream Cupcakes!

Long time no see! I know, I know...it's been a while. I start a new blog, put an entry and then I don't post anything for days..and days! Sorry about that! I'm still really excited about having a blog and being able to vomit in 'cyberworld' (I think I just made up a new word =) about whatever I feel like in whatever current state of mind I may be in. I've also realized just how busy my life is and how much sacrifice is required to do/participate in things that are not related to work or school.
Nonetheless, I've decided to blog about my childhood flashback I had this past weekend! It was so crazy! My roommate and I have had this box of cake imx in our cupboard since we moved in. We kept on saying that we were going to make a cake, and then we said that we would make cupcakes...but we never did lol. *This is where the flashback comes in* So randomly on Sunday, something got me thinking about my mom and all of the things that she used to do for me and my sister that made her a Grrrrreat! (Tony the Tiger voice) mother. She used to make these cupcakes, we call them "Ice Cream Cupcakes" for my sister and I for like special occasions at school (i.e. birthdays or special events or something). I recalled my birthday in kindergarden..like totally out of nowhere lol. And it made me want to make the ice cream cupcakes. When I ran the idea by my roommate, she kinda just dropped her jaw and was like "OMG I've never had those!" Her reaction was the same after they came out of the oven, with an added, "OMG these are great!" I guess I was unaware of how unpopular these ice cream cupcakes were. I mentioned making them to a few coworkers, some of my classmates and a few friends and, "Oh wow, those sound like fun" seemed to be the consensus. When I told my mother that I made them, she laughed, after I made her play the "Guess what I made that you used to make all the time for Ang and I" game. I recieved the typical mommy response of "You're kidding", followed by a chuckle that I'd recognize from miles away. It was one of those laughs that took her back, to when times were sooooooooo different. I know that she misses the days when she could hold my sister and I close and treat us like her little princesses =) Anyways, I've already promised my classmates that I would make some more and bring them to class with me sometime soon. I'm thinking of making a video blog on how to make them! We'll see how that goes. Until next time...thanks Mommy!

  1. I think that instead of your classmates, you should make your wonderful employees some ice cream cupcakes.... I love your writing style, by the way.
